On the Face: Start with Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation (US $29.50) to create the perfect canvas. Follow with Cremeblushes in Florida and Joie de Vivre to contour and tan the skin. Lightly dust Crushed Metal Pigment in Dark Pink on the outer eyes and cheekbones to draw attention to the eyes.

On the Face: Face and Body Foundation (US $32) is used to prep both face and body (this is a swimsuit show after all) for their beachy glow. To perfect the sun-kissed look on the face some refined Bronzing Powder (US $22) in Golden is brushed across the nose from cheekbone to cheekbone.

On the Eyes: Since a fully made up face is not exactly beach appropriate, colors on the eyes are faint but bold as needed to draw emphasis. Loose Pigment Eye Shadow (US $19.50) in Melon is dusted on the eyelids to give just enough shimmer but not too much to look intentional. Eyes are lined with Feline Eye Kohl and then finished with Plush Lash (US $13) mascara in Plushblack.

The beauty world is huge, but fragrance may be the most underestimated category. The way a person smells is important to me, because it makes an immediate impression and lasts in my memory.

But the idea of having one signature scent is so old fashioned! I always like rotating scents so I switch it up among my perfume collection which consists of lots of citruses and fruits.

Get Comfortable with Foot Petals

I don’t think I’ve ever held a job where I was required to dress in business attire everyday until now. Not that I mind wearing nice blouses and sleek pants, but I do mind that to look cute in these pieces, I have to wear heels – every day, ugh.

Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a flip flop and flats kinda gal. My mom has been hounding me for years to put heels on to make my 4’11” frame look taller. But I say, “Mom, you’re short and Dad’s short – what did you expect?”

Since I’m not used to wearing heels, my feet were really killing me the first couple of weeks and I had to be cognizant of what kind of shoes I wore.

I’m particular in shoes that I wear, and when it comes to heels, I have to sacrifice comfort over cute. That’s where Foot Petals has helped me out.
