CoverGirl Shine Blast Makes a Great Starter Gloss for Girls

Remember back when you were a teen experimenting with makeup and your mom thought you were too young for eyeliner and lipstick?
As a result, you moseyed on down to the nearby drugstore with your friends to get the darkest lipstick you could find, and discreetly hid it in your book bag so she wouldn’t find it. Okay so that was me but don’t forget, it was the early 1990s when I started dabbling with makeup.
All you moms out there, if you have teen girls just starting out with makeup, I highly suggest that you shop with your girls to help pick out her first starter glosses that won’t make her look 10 years older than she is.
And CoverGirl’s new ShineBlast Lip Gloss might be the way to go.
In the tubes, Radiate (right) and Ignite (left) look like they’d be a bold splash of color for your lips that you could wear when you’re in a playful mood.

These ShineBlast glosses actually wear much sheerer than meets the eye. To make moms happy, the subtle color is very age appropriate for young girls just starting out with color.
It’s not quite the sparkling diamond-shine that Drew Barrymore’s sporting in her new ads but it does have a sleek effect that will excite your teens – it’s much sassier for her than a flat tinted lip balm.

In the hand swatch, Radiate is a lilac pink with tiny bits of silver shimmer.

Ignite is a slightly coral shade with multi-tonal blue and violet shimmer in it.
But when I apply these on my lips, you can see how sheer it is. ShineBlast glosses are great for enhancing natural lip colors and at $7.49 US each, they make great lippies for girls just starting to build their collections.
CoverGirl ShineBlast Lip Glosses aren’t available at drugstores until January 2010, but you can get your hands on them right now during their presale event online. Check it out from now until December 5, 2009!
