Go Green! Korres Natural Beauty Necessities Kit

As far as I’m concerned, the going green trend is only going to get stronger! That’s why I love natural makeup and skincare.
From CA Botana to Yes to Carrots to Tarte and mineral makeup. And now, Korres. During the Sephora Friends & Family Sale, I decided to pick up the Korres Natural Beauty Necessities Kit ($39.50 US).
One reason I love Korres so much (<3 the shower gels!) is because their value kits and sets are so affordable! The value of this kit is $104 because everything is full sized, but you only pay about $40, that’s an extreme value.
Korres make eco-chic more accessible for those who can’t afford to fish out tons of money on natural products.

I heard lots of nice things about Korres Provitamin B5 & Rice Bran Mascara in Black but I still wasn’t expecting much – after all, my lashes need serious curling. But wow, this mascara lengthens really well!
It doesn’t curl or volumize as well as I’d like, but my lashes look super long and fluttery. It’s perfect for when I want a doe-eyed look.

I was a little weary of Korres Zea Mays Powder Blush in pink 16 because it looked so pink and pigmented in the pan. It’s amazing though! The compact is rather small, but that’s okay, because only a tap is needed.
The pink gives my cheeks a truly natural flush and feels great on. I love the simple, pretty white packaging too. This is my favorite item from the set.

Korres Soft Eyeliner Pencil in 1S Black eyeliner is noticeably softer than the brown one, but smudged more than the brown one too. I love the intense pigment and texture, but I can’t stand the smudging. I’ll save this for a look that requires a smudgy pencil, á la smokey eyes.
The Korres Eyeliner Pencil in 2 Brown feels a bit harder than 1S Black, but it’s still nice texture wise. Unfortunately, this one smudged on me too. Less than 1S Black, but still too much to let pass. I’ll save these for neutral smoky eyes.

Korres Cherry Lipgloss in Nude 33 (left) sounds like it would be a nude lipgloss but it certainly isn’t. It’s more of a copper and brown tinged coral with gold shimmer. Whatever the case, it’s lovely on my lips. Less pigmented than MAC, but there is definitely some sheer color. The shine is super pretty as well.
The gloss smells of cherries when applying, but has no taste on the lips.
I really love the unique color of Korres Cherry Lipgloss in Light Purple 23 (right)! It’s one of those crazy shades like magenta lipstick that looks crazy in the tube, but totally natural on the lips.
This lilac, lavender, light pink with silver shimmer looks milky and cool toned on my lips. It’s a nice change from my usual warm toned lippies.
The overall verdict? This kit is fab for almost anyone. Unless you already have several items from this set, I would recommend it to you. Even if you didn’t like an item or two in this set, it’s still a huge value.
What are your favorite natural brands? Any Korres fans out there? What’s your opinion about this set?

My favourite natural brand would probably be Korres or Tarte, for Korres, I really like their lip products, and their face primer is really good too!

Hi Ashley!
I’m really loving Korres too, especially the glosses and blush! I heard that the primer works really well considering there’s no silicone. I haven’t tried any of their other lippies, but I heard that the Guava lipsticks are nice. What are your faves?
