Lancôme Ôscillation Powerfoundation

As one of the leading beauty brands in innovation, Lancôme introduced us to the first vibrating mascara last fall and, now they’ve created the first micro-vibrating mineral foundation, Ôscillation Powerfoundation.

But I have mixed feelings about Ôscillation Powerfoundation ($48 US) – is a powder foundation applied with a vibrating applicator really necessary? Find out after the jump..
In my honest opinion, no.
But that doesn’t mean that Ôscillation Powerfoundation doesn’t deliver a beautiful finish. Let’s take a closer look and compare, shall we?
For me, mineral foundations have a sheerer coverage and finish when applied with a powder or kabuki brush.
Ôscillation’s sponge applicator gives me a more medium coverage that can be buffed out with the same applicator. Because of this, I prefer Ôscillation Powerfoundation.
However, before I get to my desired finish, I have to be careful about how much product I pick up with the wand applicator. The first time I test-drove Ôscillation Powerfoundation I picked up way too much and ended up with a creamy beige streak across my face.

Following the instructions that came in the packaging, I hold down the button on the side of the applicator to turn on the micro-vibrating technology and move the sponge from the center of my face and stroke outward to smooth out the excess powder and apply the product evenly across my face.
The micro-vibrating sensation feels interesting against my face but I don’t believe that it makes a difference in giving me a better or worse finish. After trying it with and without the vibration, both methods give me the same flawless finish that previous Lancôme powders have.

If you’re interested in trying Ôscillation Powerfoundation ($48 US) because you’re still trying to find the best Lancôme powder for you, I say go for it. The finish is beautiful and the coverage is just right for someone with a fairly clear complexion who wants a long-lasting mineral foundation that lasts all day.
But if you’re content with a current powder that you’re using and are debating Ôscillation Powerfoundation just for the new product appeal, it might be better to save your hard earned bucks.
Ôscillation Powerfoundation is available on counters and online now – what do you think of Lancôme’s latest beauty innovation? Really innovating? Or a marketing play?

Hey Marisol,
It’s interesting to see how people react to different types of products. I’ve read reviews that live way on either side of the spectrum. This certainly seems like a love it or hate it product..
