My Pre-Cruise Skin Primpin’ Routine

The time has finally come – we’re leaving on our cruise to the Mexican Riviera this Sunday!
I can hardly believe that 9 months has passed since we first booked our trip. At times it seemed like just yesterday, and others it seemed like the wait was forever. But the wait is nearly over now that every evening is being spent on figuring out what to pack for the week-long trip instead of working out at the gym.
As I was going through my beauty products in search for sunscreen, after-sun lotions, creams and more, I stumbled across a couple of products that were perfect for primping my skin pre-cruise.
For the last two weeks I’ve been diligently exfoliating my skin with REN Moroccan Rose Otto Sugar Body Polish ($60 US). This stuff is absolutely divine!

I love that the instructions called for using the scrub on my dry skin first before rinsing in the shower. Since I wasn’t standing underneath a running showerhead, I could take more time to exfoliate without worrying about the scrub washing down the drain. This gave me more time to really dig in and scrub thoroughly.
After using REN Moroccan Rose Otto Sugar Body Polish my skin feels extraordinarily smooth and silky. It has moisturizing oils in it so that I don’t have to apply a body lotion afterwards. The $60 sticker price is steep but the rare indulgence is worth it, especially if it means gorgeous, glowing skin during my vacation.

On my non-exfoliating days, I’ve been slathering on Aveeno Positively Ageless Firming Body Lotion ($8.99 US). The light texture makes moisturizing a non-greasy experience and it sinks right into my skin.
Aveeno Positively Ageless Firming Body Lotion has been clinically proven to improve skin texture and provide visibly firmer looking and resilient skin in two weeks. It’s been about a week and a half and I haven’t really noticed that much of a difference but I’ll keep at it though.

So that I don’t look like I’m in desperate need of a sun vacation, you know I had to do a little self-tanning before I left right? After trying Clinique Self Sun Body Airbrush Spray ($20 US), I’ve been obsessed with the spray tan and don’t really want to go back to the lotions.
L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Pro Perfect Airbrush Self-Tanning Mist ($9.99 US) provides a quick fix and in 3 uses, I can now step out in a bathing suit with an even color. My friend and I have been tanning with Sublime Bronze in the locker room at our gym so we don’t get it all over our bathrooms – genius right? That is if you don’t mind standing stark naked for five minutes waiting for it to dry.
I can’t wait to be out at sea for a whole week. Everyone I’ve spoken to has said that cruising is a blast.
Do you have any last minute pre-cruise primping tips for me? I still have 3 days until I leave!

Have fun on the cruise!
I’ve always wanted to go on one but haven’t yet.
I have no tips.
Usually before a trip I love to shop for new things and workout alot and watch what I eat.

Hi Karrie!
I’ve definitely been shopping lots – dresses and swimsuits.. and the most unlikely purchase for me.. a new camcorder to document the trip
I wish I had been working out this week but I skipped all week.. oh well, I’ll just have to make up for the all-you-can eat when I get back.
PS – I dropped off your Shower for the Cure in the mail yesterday!

That’s great that you got a new camcorder.
I love looking back at old pictures, but I think looking at a video will capture more.
Thank you for mailing my package.
Are you going to do any excursions while on the cruise?

Hey Karrie,
I think we’ll definitely do a couple of excursions. Top on our list right now are parasailing, swimming with the dolphins, ziplining through the trees and riding on ATVs (that’s what the boys want to do
)
Do you have any fun plans over the weekend? It looks like our weather is gonna be pretty nice and not too hot.
