Do you feel like the weather plays a part in what makeup you wear?

It usually doesn’t affect me too much but Saturday was a particularly drab day in my neck of the woods in Orange County.  The sun was hiding and I just felt like gray was an appropriate color palette for me.

I rummaged through my makeup for something I could use to pull together a quick look and MAC Tone:Grey eye shadow quad ($36 US) seemed like the way to go.

With four colors built right in for easy mixing and matching, I knew I could acheive a coordinated look in less time – it’s the best part about palettes.  They give you colors that work so you don’t have to spend time trying to guess which shades will match from your own collection.

I did a gradient of dark to light from the lashline up to my brow bone, applying Waft to my lids, blending with Tone:Grey to the crease and finished with A Warmer White as my highlight shade.  I wanted a true gray eye so I stayed away from the blue shadow.

Instead of brightening up the look with a vibrant lip color, I wanted to keep my makeup muted and opted for a color combo that I don’t usually wear: MAC Runway Fave Tinted Lipglass ($14 US), a gray tone neutral with lots of pearl, over MAC Our Pick Lipstick ($14 US), a cement taupe gray.
