Bring Back Vintage with C.O. Bigelow Winter Lemon

CO Bigelow Winter Lemon box

Even though I am relatively young, I love old, antique styles for everything from arts and crafts, to vintage fashion, to music. What I really adore though is vintage packaging. The rustic simplicity of how things were wrapped back in the day really catches my eye.

A classic example are the old Coke bottles, which I think tastes better in the glass bottle than the can! Although it’s not easy to incorporate a vintage lifestyle; I think that the C.O. Bigelow Winter Lemon Eau de Toilette ($25 US) helps.

I admire the packaging, which is beautiful and elegant. The amber glass bottle with the refined white script and the lacy white pattern on the front that reminds me of a doily look. There are no frills and excess; it’s an understated appearance that lets the perfume stand out.

The scent actually reminds me of fall more than winter; the musky sandalwood is cozy but the crispness of the lemon really uplifts the perfume.

I have to say that I was surprised at first whiff, but the scent has grown on me and has gotten me positive feedback from my friends. I appreciate the contrast between the tartness and warmth that are both apparent in the essence of the perfume.

Eau de toilettes don’t last as long on my skin but the bottle is big and affordable enough though to make it worth the effort to re-spray.

What are your favorite winter scents? More specifically, what ingredients or key notes do you look for in winter fragrances?
