Craving: Carne Asada Tacos from Mazatlan

It’s only been less than a month since I’ve been back from my cruise to Mexico but every few days I have a craving for Mexican.
This week, I’m eating vegetarian and that must be the reason why I have an even stronger craving for these uber delicious carne asada tacos we had in Mazatlan after a long morning of sight-seeing with our tour guide (AKA cabbie named Julio).

I can still remember how the homemade flour tortillas tastes with the bits of carne asada and cool pico de gallo mixed in and that hot salsa on top while I look at these pictures of me and The Boyfriend devouring each taco..
I guess cheese enchiladas today will just have to suffice.
What’s your food craving today?

Before I read this post, it was tomato soup but now it’s tacos. I can’t wait to be in mexico to indulge in some of the cuisine down there. So good!

Hi Kelly,
I don’t think I’ve ever had a craving for wedding cake! Did you recently go to one? I’d be interested to know which caterer made this cake that you so crave!

Hi Jody,
Sushi actually sounds great right now! I heart sashimi and will definitely indulge in some next week.

Oh Marisol,
I’m sooo jealous that you’re going on vacation for two weeks!!
I have to ask – is Mexican food a whole lot better in Mexico than here? Those tacos in Mazatlan were good – the homemade tortillas and sauce were key! But SF and around my neck of the woods in Anaheim have some yummy places too.

I definitely think that it is different. For one, they use manteca for some of their meals which is basically pork butter. So bad for you but oh so good. Food is also a lot spicier. There are some yummy mexican food places around here but there really isn’t one that I can compare to the places in Mexico or even the home cooked meals my aunts make.
