Crystal’s 2009 Holiday Beauty Faves & FOTD

My favorite looks are usually ones that are simple and easy to recreate. At times, I do like to experiment with colors and textures, but limit myself to one trend per day to maintain an appropriate look. That way, it’s easy to adopt new products into my regimen.
New holiday makeup means new tricks and colors to incorporate into my no-fuss daily looks. From all the Splurge or Skip stories we did in 2009, there were so many new items that I really enjoyed. The look below is inspired by some of my favorites from the season.

Black Eyeliner with Sheer Berry Lips and Sheer Pink Cheeks: Simple and classic, this look really suits me, which is surprising since I don’t usually like black eyeliner. In the picture though, it reminds me of a Snow White inspired look with the pale face, dark hair, raspberry lips, and lined eyes!

Korres Black Eyeliner is very soft, which is why it smudges easily. Still, the color is great and I love how smooth it applies when I tightline.
Korres Mascaras do a nice job in most departments, but the lengthening is really a wow. The Benefit Eyeshadow in Leggy is super velvety; the pink nude color is very shimmery and subtle.

On the lips, I layered Smashbox Lipgloss in Radiant, a plumy pink, over Tarte Lipgloss in Dazzling Orchid, which is a shimmery clear on the lips. The result is a toned down raspberry/bitten lip that looks perfect with the black eye liner.
The Tarte Cheekstain in Princess reviewed here, looks natural and feels great on my drier cheeks, but the color needs to be built up which can get sticky if you aren’t careful.

I adore these Bath and Body Works Shimmer Roll Ons ($3.75 US)! The scents are subtle as well as the shimmer, but are still potent enough to be of notice in a close range. The packaging is posh and looks quite pricey; perfect for party favors!
My favorite is the Winter White Citrus, a dreamy crisp blend that sweetly wakes you up. Winter White Cool, which I reviewed here, is softly more elegant and grown-up. I can’t rave enough about these amazing roller balls.
Which holiday collection is your favorite? What winter scents are you wearing these days?
