Dior 5-Colour Designer Eye Palette in Amber Design

Dior 5-Colour Designer Eye Palette_Amber Design

On most days, I’m usually wearing browns to the office.  It’s a no brainer that browns are the most neutral, easy to work with, and work-friendly when you work in a more conservative environment.

I had my Prescriptives Lustre Baked Eye Color Quad in rotation a lot this season and recently decided that I needed to switch things up a little bit.  That’s when Dior 5-Colour Designer Eye Palette in Amber Design ($56 US) came into my life..

From left to right: Amber Design palette comes with a brown eye shadow (one of my new faves!), a sheer gold shimmer, a golden eye shadow, a pearl beige highlighter, and a creamy brown eye liner (bottom).

I love the pigmentation and texture of the dark brown shade.  It’s a rich and earthy color that lends itself well to dramatic looks if you layer to build the intensity of the shadow.

The gold is not as pigmented but for me that’s okay because I’d use it more for day when I’m not looking for anything too heavy.

With the addition of a cream liner, the palette really is an all-in-one that you can tote along when you travel, making it a great space saver.

You can create easy day-to-evening looks using the gold for a subtle for the office and add a wash the dark brown to create a little drama for happy hour or dinner after the office.

On this day, I went out for a couple of drinks with friends so I opted for a more sultry eye with the dark brown and swept the sheer shimmer over it to create texture and sparkle when my eyes catch the lights.

Dior 5-Colour Designer Eye Palette also comes in three other color palettes – Nude Pink Design, Navy Design, and Smoky Design.

Have you tried these yet?  The price tag is a little steep but might be worth it if you choose one of the more basic sets like Amber Design or Smoky Design.
