Shimmering, Sparkling and Bold: Pretty Purple Nails

Pretty in Purple nails_holiday 2009It’s the nail shade of the season – and it’s a very wearable one for any type of woman, of any age.

I’m talking about shades of pretty purple hues.  From dark to vibrant, here are some of my favorite colors to wear to any party this holiday!

Dior Silver Purple swatch

Dior Silver Purple ($20 US) is a contemporary shade of metallic pewter with purple tones.  It’s a great color no matter if your style is modern or classic, or whether you’re young or old.  Silver Purple will suit everyone tastes, making it a must-have of the season.

China Glaze C-C-Courage 2009 swatch

China Glaze C-C-Courage ($3 US) belongs to the re-formulated Wizard of Ooh Ahz collection that first released in 2001.  This vibrant purple with tons of micro-glitter in the formula seems more appropriate for summertime, but if you live in sunny climates, you can wear this shade all year round.

Mismas nail color swatch

If you’re a lover of creme formulas, you’ll love Rescue Beauty Lounge polish in Mismas.  This grape purple creme applies beautifully and reaches its true color in two coats.

I love this color, although I may be biased – this shade is named after my friend Michelle from All Lacquered Up.. plus I won big in Vegas the weekend I wore Mismas to Sin City.  :)

Lancome Untamed Plum swatch

Lancôme Le Vernis ($18 US) in Untamed Plum surprised me.  The swatches online appear purple, however the shade is more burgundy with red tones than purple.  I like the color, burgundies are right up my alley, and if you can get past the application issues, it’s a pretty creme shade that fits right in around this time of year.

Apply carefully to avoid streaks and three coats are necessary to achieve the level of opaqueness from the bottle.  Here, I only have 2 coats on.

Chanel Vendetta Nail Colour

And finally, my absolute favorite color of the season, CHANEL Le Vernis ($23 US) in Vendetta.  Vampy, shimmery, and a royal blue/purple to DIE for, it’s everything that I love in a nail color.  Witness more gushing over Vendetta here.

There you have it, some of my favorite purples for the season.  Do you have any favorites to share?  Dish! Because I definitely can’t get enough :)
