New in Beauty – All About Eyes: Kat Von D, LORAC, Clinique, DuWop and Maybelline!

When I was younger, I did not know nor did I care that my eyes had no crease. Fast forward to the present; working with my eye makeup can be a pain in the behind with the absence of a crease.

Still, I love my eyes and the countless number of ways I can accentuate their almond shape with cosmetics. This is probably why I find eye products to be the most interesting. Check out some fun new goodies I found this week:

Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palettes ($34 US) are all lovely but the ones that really get fans raving are the limited edition ones, which have special packaging. The newest one, Memento Mori is sure to cause stampedes.

Nails of the Week: NARS Purple Rain

I spent the last few weeks feeling torn about what color to wear on my tips with my bronzy brown dress to a wedding this past weekend.

Earlier in the week, I had gone to get a mani with the (then) bride-to-be and originally chose CHANEL Haute Chocolat, a warm molten brown.

But after spending a couple of days with a nagging feeling that I’d be too matchy-matchy (Nina Garcia’s words of wisdom!), I re-painted my nails just 45 minutes before I had to leave to catch my flight to Las Vegas.

Clutch Player of the Week: Hourglass Cosmetics Prodigy for Spring

You’re going to a wedding this weekend and the only thing you can (or want) to carry is your perfectly matched satin clutch.

The dilemma – it needs to fit your iPhone, ID, a credit card and some cash because, hello!, you’re in Vegas and can’t resist a couple of hands at the Black Jack table before the ceremony.

Okay, okay – so the scenario speaks to me but it’s still a problem that I’m facing this weekend. How can I fit all that plus makeup to touch up my face after I’ve shed a couple of tears for the newly-wedded couple?

Hourglass Cosmetics has a new collection for Spring, Prodigy, a line of lip glosses that come in a flat tube that I think might work! But is what’s inside this convenient form good at performing its function as well?

Brighten My Dark Circles with Benefit Stay Don’t Stray

I am certainly no stranger to eyeshadow primers. I’ve been a devoted fan of Too Faced Shadow Insurance ($17 US) for quite sometime, straying only to test other primers – a duty I whole-heartedly take on to be the best beauty blogger I can be.

Of course when I saw Benefit’s new Stay Don’t Stray primer for shadows above the eyes and concealers below the eyes, I knew I had to test it. I was totally intrigued by it. A primer for.. concealer? That is a first for me.
