How Daring Are You When It Comes to Beauty?
Before beauty, I adored fashion and had a special place in my heart for the theatrical designs that ruled the runways. The excessive and avant-garde clothes never failed to captivate me.
As I fell for beauty, I saw that the makeup looks of Pat McGrath were as wild as the clothes designed by Mr. Lagerfeld. I sought to copy the looks in a more wearable way by incorporating the beauty trends into my own routines.
Voluptuous lashes are always in style and when I really want that oomph and va va vavoom factor, I put on a pair of falsies, a backstage runway staple. For everyday, I love the Ardell Fashion Lashes in 109 ($3.49 US). And they’re real-woman, budget friendly!
Made with real human hair, these lashes look very natural. I just trim the outer corners and apply the lashes onto the outer third of my eye with a thin line of Lash Grip Eyelash Adhesive ($3.99 US) on the band.
Many people like applying mascara on top of the natural and false lashes to help blend them in, but I personally do not like that method since it makes removal tougher. To remove, all I do is use peel off the lash while holding the skin taunt.
I have yet to dye my hair, but until then, I will have fun playing with Streekers in Red ($10.95 US). This temporary liquid hair color comes in a small bottle and has the consistency of water. With eight colors total, pick your favorite for fun highlights!
The sponge-tip applicator had me doubtful, but it’s great since it’s firm enough to streak over the hair. I was excited to try this product, but when I did, I couldn’t see the color on my hair! After stepping into the sun though, I saw the subtle red tints.
The result was very soft on my dark hair, but I liked how wearable it was; it’s something I can wear daily for fun. Those with lighter or blonde hair will end up with a more true hue. Keep these on hand for a fun party look!
Have you seen the pictures of Beyonce at the 2010 Grammy Awards? I predict a new trend with the sparkle strands in her hair. They’re fun and attention grabbing, but difficult to put on from what I’ve heard.
If you have the hands of a surgeon though, try the Sephora Brand Sparkle Strands ($5 US), which come in eight colors.
How daring are you when it comes to changing up your beauty look? What products do you like to use when you want to take risks and stand out?

Considering I will wear bright sky blue and turquoise lips, I feel fairly daring

those sparkle strands seem very 90s for some reason. like No Doubt and patent leather backpack 90s. I had read reviews of them on sephora and I was honestly surprised to see beyonce wearing them to the grammys. The VMAs maybe, but they’re not really a polished enough look for such a glamorous event.

Hi knownever,
I think that the sparkle strands are more of a love or hate type of product. Some people will like them, and others won’t jump on the bandwagon.
Either way, it’s a matter of preference. But, I’m glad you commented about what you thought of them!

Hi Hair Flairs,
I’ve actually watched that video about a week ago! I think the process looks tricky, but once you get the hang of it, it seems like something you could do at home easily.
