Get Luminous Skin with Brightening Serums

There are many cultures around the world that equate light skin to having beautiful skin. Whenever I go back to Taiwan with any lingering evidence of a sun-kissed tan, my grandpa would make his displeasure known and give me a scolding for being so dark.

I’m sure the same lecture is being given to young women in Korea, India, China and across other continents.

Although it’s neither true nor absolute (beauty is in the eye of the beholder), there is something to the idea that light skin is perceived as beautiful skin though I think it has less to do with the hue as it has more to do with having an even, luminous complexion that better reflects light.

Clinique and Seventeen Magazine Sun Smarts Event

Did you know that May is Skin Cancer Prevention and Detection Month? With the strong summer sun coming in a few months, we should all practice safe sun to prevent skin cancer.

Smartly timed right before the awareness month, Clinique is offering a mini-workshop for those who are going to be in the NYC area this Thursday.

Clinique and Seventeen magazine will be hosting a “Sun Smarts” event where you can learn tips for staying safe in the sun as well as makeup tips to fake a sun-kissed glow.

It’s Easy to Give Back with My Expressions of Kindness

Do you believe in karma? I do.

I believe that you get back what you put out to the universe. No, I’m not a hardcore Buddhist but I am an eternal optimist. I truly believe that there is an unseen balance in the world between good and evil.

For all the horrible things people do to each other, there are many more of us who go out of our way to improve the lives of others.

Every day, people express their kindness in various ways and Botox Cosmetic wants to encourage that cycle of giving and goodness with their My Expressions of Kindness charitable campaign.

MorrocanOil Light Oil Treatment For Fine and Light-Colored Hair

Anyone who knows me knows I’m a huge MoroccanOil fan. My recommendation to girlfriends who complain about dry, frizzy or misbehaving hair is always “Try MorrocanOil Oil Treatment!”

My friends with thick, long or dark hair are also receptive to the suggestion but those with fine hair seem to dismiss my suggestion. It wasn’t until an interview a well-known hairstylist that I learned that women with thin, fine hair do not want to weight down their hair with anything – especially with something with the dreaded “o” word in the name.
