Latherati Soap Foundry: Pretty Scents Inspired by Good Books!
As a child, bedtime stories and story time was never really for me. I was much too impatient to sit and listen for long. Instead, I preferred reading alone on a comfy couch with snacks on hand. Old habits like these die hard.
So now that I’m older and have discovered Etsy, an inspiring website where individual artisans sell their handmade goods, I have something better than apple slices or cookies to keep me company next time I pick up a novel. I have Latherati!
Latherati Soap Foundry is run by an awesome woman named Julie who loves good books and scents as much as I do. Her shop carries body products inspired by works of literature. How clever is that?
Read on to see what I think of her roll-on perfumes!
Latherati Roll-On Perfume in Orchard ($5 US) was blended as tribute to Cider House Rules by John Irving. The scent of Fall-ripened crisp apples and spicy cinnamon is an overwhelmingly perfect match.
Warm and comforting, it’s obviously perfect for the autumn, but it can work year-round. The vanilla notes come out later on, but they add some lasting power to the four-hour wear of these roll-ons.
As soon as the roller ball lifted from my wrist and I took a whiff, I fell for the fruity mix of Latherati Roll-On Perfume in Celebration ($5 US). Fun and light, it’s a sparkling perfume blend with a twist of orange, which is the note I smell most dominantly.
And although I don’t have a refined enough nose to distinguish the champagne or strawberry notes that were inspired by The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, it’s enough to keep my nose glued to my wrist!
After Latherati-creator Julie read My Antonia by Willa Cather, she decided to share her experience with us by creating Roll-On Perfume in Prairie ($5 US) a blend of hay, lemon, bergamot, sunflowers, apples, musk, and vanilla.
I get mostly apple with hints of lemon and vanilla, quite different from Orchard. It wasn’t quite my cup of tea as Orchard was, but it’s growing on me. I think I’d like it more in the Fall with a cozy sweater wrapped about me!
Bottom Line: Fast shipping, beautiful products, low prices, and excellent customer service. I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t like to try Latherati’s products out! Julie is amazingly kind and even sent along a free sample of one of her lip balms with my order.
Are you an Etsy fan? What summer books have you been reading lately?

I’ve had their store as a fave for ages but haven’t purchased anything. I think I need to remedy that soon.

Hi Michou!
Latherati was actually one of the first shops I stumbled across. This was my first order from Julie, and I love it! Now, I’m interested in Sinister and Ethereal. Which scents are calling out to you?
