Holiday traditions are all about spending time with family, eating, drinking and creating fond new memories to share together. However, for nearly the last decade I rarely traveled this time of year because of costs, or because I simply didn’t want to.
But this year, we’re changing things up a bit. This year, the Boyfriend and I are traveling to Asia to visit the homes of where our parents grew up. It’s going to be exciting to have these rare times with extended family, but what’s more, I believe that it’ll be a start to a new tradition for me and him.
Since I’ve relocated to Southern California, we’ve been flying back and forth to see each other. And I as I was thinking about travels this holiday, I realized that all of our holidays from now on will have to include traveling.. for the next few years anyway, to be with either my family or his. After all, the holidays are all about family.
So starts a new tradition for me for the holiday seasons. I hope that I’ll always be lucky enough to travel near and far each year.
What about you? What are some of your holiday traditions?
