Lip Lust: Tarte LipSurgence Natural Lip Luster
Sure, I played with Barbie almost everyday as a kid. Ken and the Dream House make great memories too. But who is she kidding? Barbie’s frosty pink lips are not flattering, no matter how much gloss she applied. It still makes me cringe.
Beauty, for me, seems to be the exception to everything. Who knew that I’d eat my words one day and fall in love with a sparkly bright pink lippie? I thought for sure that it would never be especially since my Barbie was given away a long time ago!
But what do you know, the Tarte LipSurgence Natural Lip Luster in Adored ($24 US) has become a must have swipe-and-go lip product for me. Sold in six beautiful shades, these lip stains deliver shiny, moisturizing color while feeling good on the lips.
Seem familiar? Tarte also has two other versions of the LipSurgence Natural Lip Products: Lip Tint ($24 US) and Matte Lip Tint ($24 US). Read my review of the Matte Lip Tint here.
As you can see, Adored is a happy shade of pink with just the right amount of fun and pretty gold shimmer. I’m hesitant about saying that the color is glittery, because you might classify it as garish. But truly, the glittery shimmer is such a lovely way to lighten up your look for Spring and looks wonderfully natural.
Just giving a punch of color and multi-dimensional sparkle, the Natural Lip Lusters brighten both my lips and my mood. One of my non-makeup addict pals even complimented me on the hue! Throw preconceptions of glitter out the window and give them a swatch at Sephora next time you’re at the mall. You’ll see what I mean.
I’m glad you can see some of Adored’s mesmerizing sparkles in the above photo. You can probably tell, but there’s no need for a gloss with the Tarte LipSurgence Natural Lip Lusters since they’re already so perfectly shiny.
Because of the peppermint oil, there’s a cool minty scent and taste to these lip lusters. They’re very creamy and glide on easily. I pucker up and color my lips at 7AM but by 12PM the color has usually faded. Reapplication after lunch is necessary.
What is your favorite lip product this season? Are you excited by the idea of shimmering lips or are you sticking to classic nudes and mattes?

I was wearing Adored again today with navy and black eye makeup and it made the look pop!
Do you have a favorite pink color? I’m looking to branch out and try some more right now.
