Get a Beautiful Flush with Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes
Once upon a time there were girls like me who thought that loud and bright blushes were scary because of their intense pigmentation. Then they discovered magical tools like fan and duo fibre brushes while learning the traditional art of blending…
Okay, maybe the journey for me to discover how to cope with intense blushes wasn’t as smooth as the fairy-tale I make it sound like above! Still, I’m glad I now know how to cooperate with beauties like the new Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes in Natural Beauty and Blushing Bride ($25 US).
Tarte says that these blushes are infused with Amazonian Clay and sun-baked which is something that certainly intrigues me. The clay is supposed to be a great ingredient for absorbing excess oil on the skin while simultaneously nourishing any dry spots.
Each blush is meant to be longwearing as well. Although Tarte claims that it will last an impressive 12 hours, I’m unconvinced and would lower the number to around 6-8 hours depending on how heavily you apply.
The first thing to catch your eye is that the color of the powder blushes in the pan match the color of their compact! Too cute I know, but even better is the nice mirror attached to the inner lid. Packaging is a win and I feel comforted by the sturdy exterior too.
Do the colors sound familiar to you? Well you’re right! Tarte uses the same names of their famous cheek stains and lip tints with these blushes which I think is a clever system of coordinating colors. And like their cheek stains, the Amazonian Clay Blushes have an undeniably smooth texture for easy blending.
Before I realized the power of a kabuki brush, the swatches in the above photo would have sent me running. But armed with my favorite Eco-Tools brush, how gorgeously vivid are Natural Beauty (left) and Blushing Bride (right)?
Natural Beauty’s strawberry red tone looks healthy and pretty right in the apples of the cheeks. Meanwhile Blushing Bride, a rosy plum with gold sparkle, appears trendy and sophisticated along the cheekbones. Pigmentation can be sheered down or built up so that it’s possible to create a variety of looks.
Natural Beauty and Blushing Bride are in heavy rotation with me right now, but what blush have you been giving a lot of love lately? List some of your all time favorites in the comments!
