Falsies in a Tube? Maybelline Volume Express The Falsies Mascara

In my humble opinion there’s nothing that makes such a big difference when it comes to the eyes than grooming the brows and enhancing the lashes. Since I already have full, dark brows I put more effort into making my eyelashes look as nice as possible.

Nothing will ever replace the power of a pair of false lashes, but I certainly like seeing a mascara try! Coincidentally enough, next on my mascara bucket list was Maybelline Volume Express The Falsies Mascara in Blackest Black ($6.99 US).

Like the style and design of fake eyelashes, the brush of a mascara is super important for helping you achieve the look you want. Maybelline’s patented spoon shaped, curved brush is good for lifting and coating. There are traditional, flexible bristles on the brush but the widely spaced bristles means less chance of clumps.

Some mascaras are a dry, almost matte black but Maybelline’s consistently deliver glossy, inky black color. The Falsies is no exception and helps define my naturally dark lashes. Generally there’s something about black mascaras that also make my lashes look thicker.

I think that my bare lashes are decent as long as they’re curled, but mascara really opens up my eyes and helps tie together a look. I do have a less amount of lashes that are much thinner towards the inner part of my eyes which I try to concentrate on.

I really like what I see with the Maybelline Falsies Mascara: locked-in curl, overall volume, thickness at the base, and no clumps. I find that my L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara provides me with more length, but the Falsies has been my favorite for a month or two now.

I’m going to have to pick up the waterproof version for Summer though because this mascara does tend to flake a little while I exercise. No biggie for me, but it’s something to consider when deciding between a waterproof formulation or the regular type.
