Lip Lust: Inglot AMC Lip Gloss

Most of the glosses I’m drawn to look pretty much the same. Pinks, peaches, and nudes with maybe some shimmer thrown into the mix. As soon as I realized this I started taking steps as a proactive person to pull myself out of this rut.

I wish I could say it took me all of five seconds at Nordstrom or Rite Aid to find a new favorite. But no it took me a few months of sporadic window shopping to find myself a uniquely new color that I knew I’d use.

When I stumbled upon the Inglot AMC Lip Gloss in 541 ($15 US) I wasn’t even focused. Actually I was more interested in the eye shadows in the Inglot boutique I visited, but I’m glad I gave it another look. Isn’t the fluorescent blue lavender striking?

All of the Inglot AMC glosses have that same glowing neon effect so it was hard for me to choose between this and the other pretty colors like 544, a juicy raspberry. For some reason I figured that these impossibly wild looking glosses would probably be sheer so I decided to go for the more distinctive 541.

How wrong I was! Upon swatching I saw that this has enough pigment to potentially cover the lips if carefully applied. What you can’t see in the photos is the duochrome finish. It flashes subtly into a pink, silvery lavender, lilac, alien blue, and clear depending on the angle of the light.

The slippery texture of this gloss feels slick and comfortable on the lips. However its non-stickiness makes it disappear from the lips faster, so I get around 3 hours of wear. The sponge tip applicator isn’t the most precise applicator and since this gloss has such a wet texture it’s even harder to distribute the product evenly on the lips.

Still I’m in love with the Inglot AMC Lipgloss in 541. It’s so different from anything I have and the purple-blue hue gives my lips a flushed fuchsia tint that doesn’t make my lips look redder. The effect is similar to a jewel-tone gloss but 541 just looks so amazing in the tube. Definitely one to show off to the friends.

Something that I thought was fun is its fruity gummy scent, although the taste is a disappointing weird synthetic. 541 looks super wet and glossy on the lips but can be blotted down a bit to tone down the shine. It also layers beautifully over cool-toned or light lip colors like pinks and lavenders.

Have you tried the Inglot brand? What is the coolest looking gloss you own?
