MAC Art of Powder Collection

For all you MAC collectors out there, these are truly a work of art!  They are some of the prettiest powder compacts I’ve seen from the brand recently.

“A collection of three M·A·C Artist Powders inspired by the Masters & modern art movements. There’s an op art Optical Bronzer that explores the depth, dimension and sheer illusion of bronze. A Street Art Eye Shadow personalizes the eye with a madcap act of pure graffiti – and for those who love random acts of light and shade, an In The Abstract Highlighter. These palettes empower creation…make some art!”

Cleansing with Arcona Kiwi Cream and Berry Fruit Bar

Last week I talked about toning so it should come to you as no surprise that this week cleansing is going to be discussed. Backwards yes, but I tend to get easily excited about great products and share those first.

Not to say that the Arcona Kiwi Cream Bar ($38 US) and Arcona Berry Fruit Bar ($38 US) aren’t exciting. They simply didn’t catch my eye as quickly as the toners. To sum them up, I’d say they are nice staple-type skincare to have if they work for you and your skin type.

Lip Lust: MAC Posh Paradise Mattene Lips

The season for matte lips are back, baby!  Fall is the perfect time for rich lip colors and rich textures.  I know it’ll be hard to stay away from summer’s sheer glosses but these lipsticks from MAC Posh Paradise collection will be ones you don’t want to miss.

MAC Mattene Lipsticks ($14.50 US) have a matte finish after you apply them.  I know what you’re thinking, mattes tend to look dry, feel dry, and look cakey.  But I promise you, these are not like other mattes you’ve tried and hated.

Crate & Barrel Wedding Registry Events

One of my beautiful bridesmaids and I woke up bright and early today to attend one of Crate & Barrel’s Wedding Registry events at our local store.  While you  might think that 9am is too early to venture out on a Sunday, Crate and Barrel really makes it worth your while.

At these Registry events, Crate and Barrel has experts on hand to demonstrate appliances, cookware, and assist with picking out home and other kitchen essentials.  Check out the frittata station above!  They also invite local vendors so that you can chat with photographers, florists, and bakers, allowing you to get even more out of the event.

My friend walked around for about an hour to sample tasty treats while going a little scan gun-crazy.  Here as some photos from our morning:

Infused water and non-alcoholic orange spritzers

I loved the display so much that I registered for the beverage jar and stand! :)

Yogurt and granola (more assorted breakfast pastries were set up at the next table)

Panini Station with a Cuisinart Grill/Griddle pan

She made delicious bacon, tomato, and mozzarella paninis!

Le Creuset crepe station filled with Nutella

Mini lemon cupcakes by Simply Sweet Cakery

We were so full from sampling other goodies that I just didn’t have room for this sweet treat.  My lovely bridesmaid, however, took a card from this local vendor as an idea for a bridal shower (yay!).

Krups BeerTender

It was definitely too early for beer but the idea of this machine is so cute, and much classier than an actual keg ;)  I think they set out this for the guys as wedding registries tend to be a fun girl thing to do.

All in all, I think it was a really fun event.  I think I’ll attend another one in a few months, or whenever our registry needs to get updated.  The vendors and featured products may vary with each week making it helpful to meet new vendors or  experience new kitchen demos every time!

Have you ever been to one of Crate and Barrel’s Wedding Registry Events?  Do think they’re fun and helpful?  If you’re engaged or recently married, please give us your best must-have items to include in our registry!
