Crystal Says: Weekend Beauty Reads

I wish I could be one of those people who pull together stunning eye makeup in five minutes of a hectic morning. Unfortunately most of my best looks come about during the weekends that I have no where to be.

One that I really liked recently was one I created using the Lorac Ooh La Lace Palette ($36 US) which I reviewed here. It’s very simple and since I got my technique and application down to five minutes I’ve been wearing this constantly.

Redken Tousle Whip 04 Gives Hair a Cool Semi-Matte Texture

I’m sure you’ve seen one of those Miracle Whip commercials. You either love it or you hate it. Personally I thought it was the most vile condiment ever until I realized I was putting way too much. Just a thin layer and I was head over heels.

So yes I’ve been on both sides which I think makes me a pretty fair judge of whipped products in general. Stretching it just a little? Maybe but I’d rather tell you all about the Redken Tousle Whip 04 Soft Texturizing Cream-Wax ($16 US).

Toning with Arcona’s Raspberry Clarifying Pads and Cranberry Toner

Oh the irony! There are so many skincare tips and guidelines out there to help you out, but when it comes down to it at the end of the day they can all go out the door. It’s frustrating in the least that it’s all a process of trial and error to know what works.

Take toning for instance, it was a step I usually skipped unless I wore more makeup than usual. I find the alcohol that’s usually in toners to be drying and my cleansers usually do the job so I never felt like I was missing out.
