In My Shower this Halloween: Lush Ghost Shower Gel

Happy Halloween everyone! Is anyone dressing up tonight? I’m one of those people who always forgets to get a costume until the day before. Last year I was supposed to be a hippie, which turned out surprisingly well despite my last-minute thrown together look.

This year I didn’t have a fuss or worry since I just plan on staying home. Like Christmas I’m going to shower up early and snuggle at the TV with some popcorn and a warm blanket. The only difference for Halloween is what I’m watching and what I’m lathering up with.

I absolutely love looks that are unexpected for the season. When I saw this look from Estée Lauder, it reminded me of summertime even though we’re right smack in the middle of fall. I’m actually giddy to feel a little glimpse of the warmness of this look as the temps in Orange County are starting to drop.

Crystal Says: Weekend Beauty Reads

By far one of the most inspirational beauty brands would have to be NARS. Though it may not always be so obvious, I love that each collection has a creative vision and pulls together a defined look. This season, NARS is bringing us the Modern Kabuki Collection for Holiday 2011 which features some truly exquisite pieces.

The first thing I thought after seeing the collection online was geisha! Close, but NARS says the inspiration is actually drawn from traditional Japanese Kabuki theater. My favorite item and on the top of my wish list is the NARS Hanamichi Kabuki Inspired Eyeshadow Palette which comes with a mini Kabuki Eye Brush.
