Sue Devitt Golden Triangle Eye Intensifier Pencil Wakes Up the Eyes

For days when I’m up until midnight, which has been a lot lately, nothing works more wonders for sleepy eyes than these three things: a depuffing eye gel, brightening eye concealer, and fiercely lined eyes that exude a sense of control.

Today I am sharing one of the trio with you. What I’ve been grabbing and keeping in my makeup bag is none other than the Sue Devitt Eye Intensifier Pencil in Golden Triangle ($22 US), a luxurious update on chubby shadow pencils that creates sultry eyes.

The Eye Intensifier Pencil doesn’t make outrageous claims, nor does it need to. I took a shower in the pencil and found it to be water resistant. The colors wear for long periods of time, barely losing their vibrancy. Its texture is soft, but the pencil is resistant to creases.

However this pencil does smudge after a couple hours. It may seem counterintuitive, but I smudge it purposefully with the smudger to prevent this and it works like a charm.

With a convenient and surprisingly effective smudger on one end, producing smudgy smoky eyes is a snap. The smudger also allows you to even out product on the lid as a base for any accompanying eyeshadows. Although the attached tool is very handy, I still think Sue Devitt could have included a jumbo sharpener.

A deep olive green with golden shimmer, the pencil actually makes Golden Triangle look like a blackened golden olive. For us brown eyed girls, this color is an amazing pick that contrasts beautifully and intensifies our eye color. I apply a sheer wash of gold eyeshadow underneath to bring out the gold shimmer even more!

What are your best kept secrets when it comes to looking like you got eight hours of rest? Do you have any favorites in the Sue Devitt line?
