Must Have: Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual; Weekend Beauty Reads

I don’t know what I did right but this year, Santa came early and dropped off Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual ($32 US) on my doorstep a few days ago.

Now, I’m a beauty enthusiast but I will be the first to tell you that even when my friends ask me, I have no clue on how to apply makeup on anyone except for what I think looks right on me.

Flipping through this Makeup Manual, I’ve decided that this is my Beauty Bible from here on out.  It has answers for everything that I’ve had questions on for so long, including: how to pick correct foundation and concealer shades,  how to apply makeup for Asian eyes and special occasion makeup tips.

But I think my favorite thing about this book, out in stores beginning December 1st, is the fact that it’s chock-full of pictures with accompanying step by step’s – from how to create a smoky eye to how to accurately apply false lashes.

Hopefully my makeup techniques will improve and I can share some of the tips I find here with you in future posts – let me know if you have any requests!

If you can’t wait for me or want your own copy, put it on your holiday wish list or nab one up on Amazon.com – I found it there for $21 versus it’s full retail of $32 US.

Great Lengths with Lancôme High Définicils; This Week’s Pretty Reads

Okay, I know all the rage right now is Lancôme new Ôscillation mascara ($34 US) that just released last week.  But, until I can get my hands on one, Lancôme High Définicils has a special place in my makeup bag.

Lancôme High Définicils mascara ($24 US) released earlier this year, helps me feel a little better about my lashes by giving them nice length in a light-weight formula that rocks for everyday wear.

If you love CoverGirl Lash Blast for its great rubber wand that prevents the bristles from clumping or bending, but hate the fat diameter of the wand and tube, you’ll definitely appreciate the packaging on Lancôme High Définicils.
