Spotlight: Raquel Welch Wig Collection

raquel-welch.png

Today’s Pink Spotlight focuses on a great beauty organization in support of an awesome cause, the Raquel Welch Wig Collection by HairUWear.

Every year since 2003, former film and TV star turned beauty advocate Raquel Welch has worked with her company and HairUWear to donate wigs to the American Cancer Society.

With approximately $1 million dollars worth of Raquel Welch Wigs donated and distributed to cancer patients all across the United States via wig banks run by the American Cancer Society, those affected by cancer have the opportunity to feel beautiful again and less like patients.

Check out Raquel Welch’s line of wigs for yourself or someone you love online or find a distributor near you today.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is coming to an end this week but don’t forget that there’s still time for you to help me fundraise for Comments for a Cure.  For every Comment you make on this post, or any other BCA-related stories I feature during the month of October, I will personally donate $1 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure*.

Spotlight: Clinique Great Lips, Great Cause

clinique-great-lips-great-cause-set.jpg

Happy Friday, ladies (and gents)! EDIT: Just kidding!  Happy Thursday!  Being unemployed means I don’t know what day of the week it is!  :D

I’m so excited about today’s Pink Spotlight - Clinique’s Great Lips, Great Cause Lip Set is my personal favorite pink product for Breast Cancer Awareness Month that I’ve come across so far this year.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve owned a lipstick that came in one of those lip cases - I find it pretty old-school and reminds me of my mom back in the day when she carried one in her purse every where she went.

With that said, I think Clinique did a phenomenal job of giving us an updated look for its BCA-inspired set.  Great Lips, Great Cause Lip Set ($16.50 US) includes a chic, silvery lipstick case with a limited edition Colour Surge Butter Shine Lipstick in Ribbon Pink in a gorgeous metallic pink and bamboo-esque tube inside.

Spotlight: Glowology Love Light for a Cause

glowology-love-light-candle.jpg

Today’s Pink Spotlight is not a color item or a skincare product to make you look gorgeous on the outside.  Rather, it’s something meant to provide you with a feeling of wellness on the inside.

When I’m able to create a soothing ambiance for myself, whether it’s in my bedroom, bathroom, or even my office (someday), I immediately feel more relaxed and calm, and that leads to a happier, and healthier me.

An easy way to create a quiet space for yourself is with dim-lit candles.  In an effort to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, may I suggest picking up a Glowology Love Light Candle ($24 US) in a glass apothecary jar.  When you purchase this powdery scented candle during the month of October, Glowology will donate 50% of the proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Fund.

Or, as our month-long contest for pink BCA products continues, you can win one of these pretty candles right here on The Daily Cookie!  All you have to do is fill out the sweepstakes form below for your chance to win this Love Light candle! Hurry because this giveaway closes on Tuesday, Oct. 21th at 11:55pm EST.

Don’t forget that I will also donate $0.10 for every sweepstakes entry I receive on this post, or any other BCA-related giveaways I feature during the month of October to Susan G. Komen for the Cure*.

Great in a Pinch: Bobbi Brown Dark Eye Palette & Pink Ribbon Lippies

bobbi-brown-velvet-plum-palette.jpg

Today my cousin and her hubby asked The Boyfriend and I to help babysit our god daughter, Katanah, and big sis Paetyn for a couple of hours.  As we’re happy to do so, a girl’s still gotta find time to put on her face, right?

Thank goodness for Bobbi Brown, a beauty brand that knows what women need to look great in a flash without the guesswork.  All her products are meant to enhance natural beauty without over-the-top colors to fear when you’re in a hurry.

The Velvet Plum Eye Palette ($45 US) has a range of four shadow colors: from a dark matte brown to a pretty bone highlighter.  It’s enough to create a simple day look in just minutes in between baby bottles and burping and fixing Big Sis something to grub on.

Spotlight: Too Faced Betsy Baby Duo

too-faced-eye-shadow-duo_bca.jpg

One thing that I’m drawn to when it comes to beauty products are the names, whether it be the brand or the name of the color.  In the case of today’s Pink Spotlight, we get the best of both with Too Faced Eyeshadow Duo in Betsy Baby ($17 US).

Check the amazing story behind how Betsy Baby came to be - I would summarize it for you but I think the description on the Sephora site says it all beautifully.

Too Faced’s brand founder, Jerrod Blandino, created Betsy Baby for one of his closest friends, Sephora’s Betsy Olum. In 2007, the Sr. Vice President of Marketing was diagnosed with breast cancer. During Betsy’s trying time, Jerrod was one of her top supporters. And, during one of their many heart-to-heart chats, Betsy jokingly asked if Jerrod would bring back her favorite discontinued Too Faced shadow, Heiress. Jerrod happily obliged, and worked with Betsy to develop the perfect highlighting-accent color. Now a fierce duo (just like Jerrod and Betsy), it’s been renamed Betsy Baby in honor of her battle and triumph over breast cancer.

Now with every sale of limited edition Betsy Baby, Jerrod will donate $3 per sale as will Betsy Olum, herself.  And to add to the cause, Sephora will also donate $3 making that a grand total of $9 going to the Breast Cancer Research Fund for every purchase of this Too Faced duo.

So go ahead, I know you want to, go out and support Breast Cancer Awareness Month by picking up a little something that’ll make you look and feel gorgeous too.

Don’t forget that for every Comment you make on this post, or any other BCA-related stories I feature during the month of October, I will personally donate $1 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure*.

Spotlight: Think Pink with Creme de la Mer

creme-de-la-mer_bca.jpg

Luxury in a pink box - it’s a simple thing to give your skin the best while helping to give to a greater cause.

Exclusively for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, La Mer has created an exclusive pink box for its best-selling Crème de la Mer and will also make a donation of $30,000 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation in connection with the North American sales of Crème de la Mer in order to aid research and increase awareness.

So treat yourself and give back to the cause - your skin will thank you for it!

And don’t forget that for every Comment you make on this post, or any other BCA-related stories I feature during the month of October, I will personally donate $1 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure*.

Spotlight: Estee Lauder Pink Ribbon Collection & Weekend Reads from BBN

el-bca-collection.jpg

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Usually, today I’m all about the football but I’m up early and wanted to share with you the Estee Lauder Pink Ribbon goodies for Breast Cancer Awareness Month I saw at Bloomingdale’s yesterday while shopping with my little cousin.

This year, Estee Lauder created two lip collections after the women behind the Lauder name, Evelyn Lauder, and Elizabeth Hurley - Estee Lauder’s long-time spokesperson.

evelyn-lauder-lipstick-collection.jpg

The Evelyn Lauder lipstick collection ($22 US) comes with three of her favorite shades: (l-r) Bali Rose (LE), Candy, and Rich Berry.  This set is sold out online but you can still find a few sets left in stores.

elizabeth-hurley-collection.jpg

If you’re more of a gloss kind of girl, then check out the Elizabeth Hurley lip gloss collection ($16 US) featuring her favorite shades of High Gloss: (clockwise from top left) Pearl, Pink (LE), and Rose.  I also really love this collection because you get a nice variety of shades to mix and match with more of my already abundant lip collection.  But hey, anything for a good cause, right?
