Beautiful Design Makes the New NARS Brush Line Stand Out

NARS Brushes

To me, geishas are an intriguing source of fascination and inspiration. I wrote a research paper about them a few years ago, but they continue to interest me as a subject, and I hope to write a thesis about them in the future.

Of course when I first saw the new NARS brush line, the sleek designs instantly reminded me of black lacquer, like the kind that is ubiquitous in a geisha’s world. Naturally, the aesthetic speaks to me.

NARS 413 BLKR Blush Gives You an Excuse to Get to a NARS Boutique!

NARS 413 BLKR Blush

As much as I love the convenience of having so many brands under one roof when I’m shopping at Sephora or a department store, I treasure the shopping experience I have at freestanding boutiques.

The most noticeable difference between the two would be the employees, who are much more passionate and knowledgeable about the company and line at a boutique. Little perks like samples or a visually engaging window display are just perks to the actual people in the store that embody the shopping experience.

NARS Contour Blush Can be Your Best-Kept Secret

NARS Contour Blush review

A few days ago I forgot to contour my face. I didn’t notice until later in the day, but once I did, it was remarkable how much of a difference I saw. Contouring is an art that depends on subtlety in creating that ideal illusion of shadow and light so using just the right products matters.

I was really excited about the newly released NARS Contour Blush ($42 US), which comes in three colors, since NARS makes such excellent cheek products. Of course, after testing them out for a few weeks, do I even have to say it? They’re must-haves for anyone serious about creating beautiful definition on the face.

Dressing up a Classic: the Tarte Cheek Stain

Tarte cheek stains review

I just bought a dress for an upcoming event in two colors: red and black. I still can’t decide which one I like better, though I should soon so I can return the one I’m not keeping. My dilemma? The red is gorgeously sultrier, but the black is wonderfully versatile.

Same dress, different colors. It’s really all about the packaging, because my body and the dress are identical in both colors. Along the same lines, Tarte Cosmetics, one of my favorite brands recently gave their best-selling, award-winning cheek stains an adorable face lift.

Blooming this Spring with Milani Rose Powder Blush

Milani Rose Powder Blush in Coral Cove

On Instagram, I’m a sucker for foodie shots, #armcandy photos and snaps of gorgeous, colorful flowers. Since I moved to Massachusetts for school, I haven’t bought myself any flowers. I know they definitely would have cheered me up this Winter though.

It’s Spring now, so things are looking a little brighter on the weather side. I’ve been using the limited edition Milani Rose Powder Blush in Coral Cove ($7.99 US) as well. The oh-so pretty raised pattern injects a pop of Spring on my vanity and my cheeks.
