Fall collections are starting to pop up as we begin to countdown the last weeks of summer. With that, I have to admit that I’m really likin’ this model for Prescriptives’ Daring collection for fall. Doesn’t she look a lot like Cindy Crawford, one of my favorite supermodels from the late 80s and 90s?

This is definitely a trend that I’m noticing with this season’s makeup - a throw back to haute 80s makeup with deep browns emphasized on the eyes and early 90s matte (check out MAC’s Cult of Cherry coming soon!)

Happy Friday girls!

Holy mackerel! When I peeped this photo I was immediately engaged and completely inspired by the styling - from the impeccable hair to the flawless makeup. To some, it may look clownish (it actually does), but that’s the one thing it should do - evoke fantasy.

shu uemura partnered up with legendary designers Viktor & Rolf and is releasing a new limited edition set of couture lashes in September 2008.

Three limited edition sets will debut next month in boutiques and at select retailers for $95 each! Wing (as shown above) is A Messenger of Hope with artistic flair and intricate detail. It’s the most couture of the three lashes. Swirl, A Blink of a Smile, is a playful, opulent eyelash and Rhombus, A Glance of Treasure, inspired by Viktor & Rolf’s Pierrot themed Spring/Summer 2008 Collection.

Sometimes I just can’t keep up with all the releases that beauty powerhouse MAC comes out with each year, but I definitely have to try, right? And now, yet another collection (or two) has arrived on counters from one of my favorite beauty brands, Starflash and Lustre Twins.

After the experience I had at the counters with Electroflash, I was feelin’ like I was all MAC’d out. That is until I took a look at these Lustre Twins lippies. I cannot get enough of lippies, so I think I’m going to have to muster up some nerve and take on the hater MUA at my local Nordie’s counter in order to get a peak at Lustre Twins. My days have been extremely busy these days so I apologize for the lack of swatches!

What I will tell you, though, is that MAC’s lustre formulas are my fave lipstick formulas. Lustre Twins gives us nine new duo-shades of this fun lip color set. I can’t wait to get my hands on a couple of these - it’s like 2 for 1! This collection also gives us 3 more pretty limited edition nail lacquers.

MAC shadows are really awesome — reasonably priced, nice texture, and they’ve got pretty much every color under the rainbow. There’s always a few colors that work for me in every collection (but then again, I’m not that picky). Starflash gives us muted versions of those vibrant summer colors and would be awesome as we transition from summer into fall.

I’ve got my eye on Mink & Sable, a frosty olive green, and Smoke & Diamonds, a dirty taupe shade. I’m so ready for sultry fall colors, baby!

Today I rushed after work to go take a peak at the new MAC collections on counter as not to miss any of the must-haves - and swatch the heck out of everything for you.

But, to my dismay, there was a new counter manager there (or someone new, anyway) and she was freaking out that I was swatching and taking pictures. So much so, that she wouldn’t let me take them right there at the counter and therefore turned me way off to hauling anything from Electro Flash - even though the shadow duos looked to die for. I swatched Odd Couple and Sea & Sky on a free spot on my hand and the textures are definitely super pigmented and very rich. (more…)

MAC’s Mineralized products are coming back - in a big way! Three new collections will be in stores and on counters Thursday, and if you have a craving for all things mineralized or missed the boat on MAC’s 2007 Holiday collection with these eye shadow duo darlings, it’s time to get them NOW!

Electro Flash: This is the anchor color collection for this release with nine new pretty eye shadow duos, four lipsticks and four complementary lipglasses. Personally, I’m liking Love Connection (surprised? ) and Li’ Hot Pepper lipglass. Autumn red tones are going to be particularly special for fall.

Sonic Chic: This slew of nine mineralized blushes makes me want to drool as much as I loved the Beauty Powder Blush collection that MAC released in the spring. The colors look amazingly rich, perfect for summer and transitioning to the new season. I won’t be able to afford all the pans but you bet your behind I’ll try!!

New View: If you love the mineralized skin finish powders, I think you’ll really like this. Although if you had those, I’m not really sure this collection will complement your current makeup bag. But if you don’t have it already, definitely pick these up - everyone raves over them and you can definitely tell why. The shimmer veining that runs all through the pan is sure to bring a luminescent glow to your complexion that can’t be beat!

I’m running out to my local MAC counter tomorrow so stay tuned for swatches - and maybe a mini haul.. because retail therapy never hurts.

Right now I’m getting ready to pack up the car for my long weekend to hang out with my mom and catch the gorgeous 4th of July fireworks over Lake Tahoe. But before I could zip up my carry-all bag, I just had to make a quick stop by the mall yesterday to find some cute and cheap flip flops to wear this weekend.

Of course you know that I can’t make any visit to the mall without visiting my favorite makeup counters at Nordstrom. When I walked by, I saw it from the corner of my eye; low and behold - there it was. I knew it was coming but it’s just one of those things you can never fully be prepared for - Chanel’s Fall Beauty Collection.

One glance and I was hopelessly smitten. It was so hard for me walk away from the counter without buying something but I had to save my pretty pennies for those slot machines. Oh boy, if I hit it big this weekend, I already know what I’ll be adopting from Chanel’s new collection when I get back.

My one true Chanel love are the Glossimers ($26 US) and for fall, Chanel introduces three new gorgeous shades to their line up: Amberlight, a rich and coppery bronze; Delight is a sheer lilac with tons of sparkle; and Gold Light, an understated shimmery gold that reminds me of Lancôme’s Juicy Tubes in Touched by Light. So if you can’t wait until Thursday to get your hands on the new Antiquitease collection, now you don’t have to. I know you’ve been itchin’ to pull out that credit card for this collection for weeks and now you can buy them online before they hit stores. If you’re really hardcore, opt for overnight shipping so that you can get these babies as early as tomorrow! WOO HOO!

Just when y’all couldn’t wait for MAC’s Alexander McQueen collection to come out this past week, MAC has given us even more wonderful holiday items we just have to have NOW!

MAC is coming out with their Antiquitease collection in the U.S. on Oct. 25th. Here’s a sneak peak at Heirlooms brush sets, Finery lip color kits, and Royal Assets for lips and eyes.

MAC Holiday 2007 Heirlooms will come in three must-have brush sets: Basic (everyone has to have the basics!), Face, and Eyes. These sets are all $48 US each and come in a cute limited edition packaging that looks like a clutch! I just got back from my local Nordstrom’s and already pre-ordered my Basic set; I can’t until it comes in the mail!

Finery lip color kits ($38 US) have two lipsticks and one lip gloss and will come in four different color palettes - coral, pink, tan, and plum. Don’t get too excited about these yet. These don’t roll out until mid- to late November.

And now, the mac daddy of them all… the Royal Assets palettes. You KNOW these are going to sell out FAST like they do every holiday season! Royal Assets will arrive in four lip and four eye shadow palettes. The lip palettes come with three colors in them and will retail for $22.50 US. The eyeshadow kit comes with six colors and will retail for $36 US. I can’t wait to check them out. The package looks so “antique” and beautiful, I know I’ll pick up at least one set.

Viva Glamorous is also part of MAC’s Holiday Collection this year. And if you can’t get enough for your lips with all the Antiquitease sets, these will make great stocking stuffers for all those MAC addicts out there.

If you can’t to check them out either, I actually heard that some of these will be in stores as early as Oct. 18th! Will we have to wait until the end of the month? Or will our MAC Holiday dreams come true in five more days???
