A Festive, Simple Thanksgiving FOTD

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! What are your plans today? I know I’ll be indulging in some mouthwatering food and pulling out the old karaoke later on, much to the dismay of my family. ;)

I’m also going to bust out my best makeup techniques and get the creative juices flowing for the family gathering. It’s the best time of the year to refine mediocre blending skills or try my hand at a crazy runway trend!

LORAC Private Affair and Evening Out FOTD

I think the last time I had to make a really tough decision was this past Saturday. I was going out with some friends and wanted to spice up my look. Automatically, I reached for the LORAC Private Affair Palette ($38 US) from their fall release.

My opinion of the palette hasn’t changed since my review here, except for one thing. If you’re an indecisive person like me, you are going to have a hard time deciding which stunning colors to use in your look! I wanted to use them all, so I did.

Get Glossed with Estée Lauder Pure Gloss

At any one time, I always keep a stick of a neutral shade gloss in my purse.  When I wear bolder hues like fuschia or red, I don’t tend to touch up my lips throughout the day.  I know it’s just me, but I much prefer the way these shades look on my fresh lips, not four hours later.

But I do need a little shine to keep me looking alive and feeling pretty.  That means right now my go-to gloss is the all-new Estée Lauder Pure Color Gloss ($20 US) in Tempting Tearose.

A Step-By-Step FOTD with NYX Champagne & Caviar Palette

I’ve come to the sad conclusion a while ago that no matter how much I try, an all-brown smoky eye does not look good on me. I end up looking bruised or tired. Are there any eye shadow looks that just don’t flatter you?

Miraculously though, the NYX 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette ($9.75 US) in Champagne & Caviar I reviewed last week works for me. I’m certain that it’s because there is a mix of different colors like black, pink, and peach and not just browns.

I’ve played around with different looks and here’s a step-by-step tutorial on one of my favorites with this palette.
