A few weeks ago I posted details for the Henri Bendel & Allure shopping party held last week.  Were you able to make it?  I did!  I brought a couple of friends and they brought a couple of friends.  It was a shopping party indeed!  They had champagne, hors d’oeuvres, and lots of prizes and free stuff.

I bypassed most of the commotion on the floor and headed over to the Kevyn Aucoin counter for a makeover.  I’d never tried the line and wanted to see if the products were as legendary as the make-up artist who created it.

Chris, the counter manager, spent some time with me and freshened up my colors.   After about 40 minutes with the make-up artist, I purchased two The Curling Mascaras in Rich Pitch Black, The Liquid Foundation Pen Lip gloss in Hydraa and The Elegant Lip Gloss in Cloudaine.

It could just be me, but doesn’t it always seem like the holiday season begins earlier and earlier every year?

Not that it matters because if there were a collection that’ll put a skip in any girl’s step this holiday, it’s MAC’s Passions of Red.

For these limited edition collections that come out each year, you may notice that some of the color schemes are generally the same with shadow combinations for cool, warm, and smoky eyes.  However, this year’s packaging to definitely to die for.  As you know, I love all things red and I’m just completely giddy with excitement for Passions of Red!

Housed in jeweled red cases, this collection offers four eye palettes featuring six shades each of new colors and re-promotes.

Happy Friday, ladies (and gents)! EDIT: Just kidding!  Happy Thursday!  Being unemployed means I don’t know what day of the week it is! 

I’m so excited about today’s Pink Spotlight - Clinique’s Great Lips, Great Cause Lip Set is my personal favorite pink product for Breast Cancer Awareness Month that I’ve come across so far this year.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve owned a lipstick that came in one of those lip cases - I find it pretty old-school and reminds me of my mom back in the day when she carried one in her purse every where she went.

Today my cousin and her hubby asked The Boyfriend and I to help babysit our god daughter, Katanah, and big sis Paetyn for a couple of hours.  As we’re happy to do so, a girl’s still gotta find time to put on her face, right?

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Usually, today I’m all about the football but I’m up early and wanted to share with you the Estee Lauder Pink Ribbon goodies for Breast Cancer Awareness Month I saw at Bloomingdale’s yesterday while shopping with my little cousin.

This year, Estee Lauder created two lip collections after the women behind the Lauder name, Evelyn Lauder, and Elizabeth Hurley - Estee Lauder’s long-time spokesperson.

The Evelyn Lauder lipstick collection ($22 US) comes with three of her favorite shades: (l-r) Bali Rose (LE), Candy, and Rich Berry.  This set is sold out online but you can still find a few sets left in stores.

If you’re more of a gloss kind of girl, then check out the Elizabeth Hurley lip gloss collection ($16 US) featuring her favorite shades of High Gloss: (clockwise from top left) Pearl, Pink (LE), and Rose.  I also really love this collection because you get a nice variety of shades to mix and match with more of my already abundant lip collection.  But hey, anything for a good cause, right?

Today I’m at my aunt’s house in San Diego, trying to digest the pancakes and bacon she served up for breakfast.  In order to forget how full I am, I started to dig around my makeup bag to see what I could play and found YSL’s Rouge Volupté lipstick ($34 US).

I got this a few weeks ago and murmurred at the beauty of its case - a slick gold tube with a gorgeous YSL logo pattern around its middle. Excited that I even remembered to pack it with me, I immediately tried it out even though I have no intentions of actually wearing it in public today with the rest of my makeup.

The color, Lingerie Pink, reminds me of what I had imagined Lancôme’s Pout-à-Porter in Proenza Pink would look like.  A milky, chalky looking pink that even swatched on my hand looked too pale for me to wear.  It’s a great color for a mod look, or if you’re feelin’ like Sharon Stone a la Casino.
