Get the Look: Cheeky Bronze Glow

Bronzed and Beautiful Skin

Although lately I’ve been getting more obsessed with lippies (stay tuned for my thoughts on an amazing new one from NARS!), I’m a face product girl at heart. Nothing excites me more than the promise of glowy skin that takes perfect to the next level.

Often times though, my face makeup routine is really simple. I forgo foundation for concealer and powder on a daily basis. But when I want to step up my game for a fun night out with the girls or a dinner date, I like layering my favorite cheek products for a gorgeous finish that is guaranteed to last.

What’s in my Makeup Bag?

The Daily Cookie makeup bag

Day to day, my everyday makeup routine doesn’t change that much. After years of trial and error I know what works for my eye shape, so variety for me comes in the form of lippies and cheek products. I love mixing different blushes and highlighters for the prettiest effects for instance.

The products shown are just a snapshot of what I’m wearing and loving now, but pared down without the bit of “variety” that I mentioned above.

Morsels of the Week ft. NARS Nails, Tarte Skincare, MAC Lips

NARS Mots Bleus

I’m in Seattle right now working at the physical location of t+j Designs for my internship. The month that I’ve been here has flown by, and I’ve had such a enriching experience seeing so many different aspects of how the company runs.

When we take photos of our cute rings, we like to make sure we have on a fun nail color too. This past week I wore the NARS Nail Polish in Mots Bleus ($20 US). It’s a gorgeous greyed-out kind of teal that works so nicely as a Summer to Fall transition color. NARS recently reformulated their polishes, but to be honest I don’t notice much of a difference, because I’ve always been a fan.

All Access: Backstage at Vivienne Tam A/W ’14

Being alone in a big city can be an intimidating experience, but personally I enjoy having the freedom not to have to compromise on my schedule. Walking around NYC and taking the subway or buses was a great experience to do alone for the first time this Fashion Week.

By now, I am much more comfortable recognizing and visualizing where certain places, like Midtown or Soho are. Of course, with covering trends backstage at New York Fashion Week, I knew my way around Columbus Circle and Lincoln Park pretty well. Moving on, check out what beauty trends are upcoming at Vivienne Tam.

Lip Lust: MAC Freckletone Lipstick

MAC Freckletone Lipstick review

We all have our phases and trend-based preferences when it comes to beauty. Currently I?m riding the dramatic eye makeup wave. I?ve been sporting falsies frequently and winging my eyeliner intensely.

I find it a little too much to pair my eye makeup with a bold lip color, though who knows, I may end up liking the juxtaposition next week. But for now, a nude lip color looks good to me.
