Morsels of the Week ft. NARS Nails, Tarte Skincare, MAC Lips

NARS Mots Bleus

I’m in Seattle right now working at the physical location of t+j Designs for my internship. The month that I’ve been here has flown by, and I’ve had such a enriching experience seeing so many different aspects of how the company runs.

When we take photos of our cute rings, we like to make sure we have on a fun nail color too. This past week I wore the NARS Nail Polish in Mots Bleus ($20 US). It’s a gorgeous greyed-out kind of teal that works so nicely as a Summer to Fall transition color. NARS recently reformulated their polishes, but to be honest I don’t notice much of a difference, because I’ve always been a fan.

3.1 Phillip Lim for NARS Nail Collection for Fall 2014

NARS 3.1 Phillip Lim collection review

I maintain a lust list of designer items I dream of one day owning and slowly save towards. For the longest time a 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli bag topped my list. Stylish yet edgy, I loved the bag’s structured silhouette.

I recently took the plunge and got myself one and thought I couldn’t be happier. That is, until I received these two NARS Nail Polishes ($20 US) from the 3.1 Phillip Lim for NARS Nail Collection in the mail. Now I’m positively glowing with a little bit of the designer on my fingertips and slung across my arm.

Nails of the Week: Ciaté Shell Manicure in Mermaid You Look

Ciate Shell Manicure Mermaid You Look

With nail art, there’s a lot of pressure to be original and unique, which is the most time-consuming part of the process. Even something as simple as choosing an accent nail can be an agonizing decision.

Sometimes I just want a quick and easy manicure, so the Ciaté Shell Manicure Kit ($25 US) is a great little fix for fun Summer-ready nails.

Nails of the Week: Hard Candy Spring 2014 Collection

Hard Candy Spring Nail Polishes

Fancy nails are an easy conversation starter. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been stopped to have my nails closely examined. I try not to let them get too chipped before I repaint them, since I like being know as the girl with the cool nails.

Based on my experiences, glitter polishes tend to get the most attention. I think all girls are a little bit of a magpie on the inside; we can’t help being attracted to the shiny and pretty! Case in point: these Hard Candy polishes from their Spring 2014 collection.

Channeling My Inner Artist at Valley Nails NYC

Valley Nails

The past two times I’ve been in New York City I was really drawn to lower Manhattan. I explored SoHo and Greenwich Village while I was there last week. It feels a bit more personal and calmer than say, Midtown or the Upper West Side, which I really liked as I explored the streets by foot.

Since I was in NYC already, I really wanted to get my nails done with another design. I looked to Valley Nails, which I had read great things about and booked an appointment with Ayumi Motegi for gel nail art.
