I’m on a total NARS kick right now. I was feeling a little festive on Cinco de Mayo, and getting ready for the Giants baseball game, so I decided to pull this one out of the archives.
NARS Lal Mirchi is an orange red from their 2012 Thakoon limited edition collection. I love everything about it – the formula, the creaminess of the color, and most of all it totally evokes a yearn for warm summer weather.
Happy Lunar New Year everyone! To ring in the year of the Snake, I chose a traditional red and gold for my holiday manicure.
Essie Limited Addiction was the base for my French mani-inspired nails. It’s a rich creme red that rings true to the color with a tinge of orange undertones. It reminds me of those beautiful Shanghai women and their siren red lips from the 1940s era.
The holiday bling season was the perfect excuse for me to play with these Kiss Nail Dress stickers I got at CVS on a buy one, get one 50% off deal. I couldn’t bring myself to get anything too colorful so I opted for black and silver for my tips. This set is called “Bustier”.
The sets provide enough strips for you to complete a mani and pedi as well as a mini nail file. For me, because my nail beds are so little, I can strategically cut the strips to get enough for two nails on the larger ones.
When I peeped China Glaze’s new Kicks Collection, I immediately thought of the sassy all-girl dance crew’s, Fly Khicks, from the third season of MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew.
These ladies used to be former dancers for the NBA’s Miami Heat basketball team so they know a thing or two about rockin’ the kicks. If you’re in tune with their style and flair for color, I think you’ll love China Glaze’s Kicks Collection.

I’ve been trying to find a light green that I can rock this summer. While Entourage came out a little more mellow in the photo, it’s way too neon green for my skintone in real life. I wish it looked more like the pic, I’d rock it in a heart beat!
I have a job interview this morning so I changed my manicure shade from China Glaze’s Grape Juice from their Summer Days collection that I been wearing all weekend to something more neutral.
It’s important to know how to appropriately dress for any event, and on these occasions you want to have all the attention focused on you and your skills in your interview versus how savvy you are on the latest nail trends. Although that doesn’t mean you can’t wear the latest that’s in season.
Today I’m wearing Golden Sand from CHANEL’s Côte d’Azur Summer collection, a peachy gold metallic that looks almost like light copper piping or cookware. I like the shade although the formula was thick and hard to apply evenly on my nails. It’s a nice color for work manicures, bold but doesn’t scream for attention.
