Bring on the glitz and glimmer, baby, because the holiday season officially kicks off next week with Thanksgiving and so it’s time for me to really pull out my new holiday makeup goodies and shine!

For this season of celebration, Givenchy is introducing two new shades of their Pop Gloss Crystal lip gloss ($23.50 US) that really hit it out of the ballpark in the shine and shimmer department.

Creams, Lotions and Potions: My Top Picks

philosophy-lemonade-hand-cream.jpg

It’s about that time of year when my skin starts to get really dry and itchy and I feel like I have to put lotion on a million times a day.

Today is especially troublesome on my hands since it’s also cold this morning making them even more itchy before I head off to the airport.

To give me some relief on a daily basis, I thought I’d share some of my favorite hand creams and lotions in case you’re in the same boat ;)

Philosophy Old-Fashioned Lemonade Hand Cream ($15 US):  A surprisingly rich cream, considering the main ingredient is water, that’s sinks into my skin wonderfully.  I also love the way it smells fresh like lemons on summer day - even in the middle of fall.

Sephora by OPI Daily Hand Moisturizer ($5 - $9 US):  This one’s a nice lotion that’s affordable enough to use everyday and also has an inviting, citrusy smell that earns this product more points in my book.

glowology-the-balm-cream.jpg

Glowology The Balm for Hands and Feet ($24 US): When I opened up this jar, the cream inside literally looked like rich frosting with little movement while smelling soft and powdery.  Formulated with organic shea butter, The Balm comes off as uber moisturizing without the heaviness of a cream.

LAVANILA The Healthy Body Butter Trio ($30 US): I’ve actually only tried this body butter in Vanilla Coconut, but this trio set I found on Sephora also comes with Pure Vanilla and Vanilla Grapefruit scents that’s great if you love all things vanilla.  This formula is also very rich and doesn’t last as long as the Philosophy lotion, but I just love the way it smells like cupcakes!

I hope your day is going to be a good one!  I’m getting ready to start my weekend early and am heading off to the airport for Vegas for the Boyfriend’s birthday soon.

We’re staying at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino - I can hardly wait to chow down on a yummy sandwich from ‘Wichcraft again.  Especially since I’ve been watching a lot of Top Chef these past few days.  Tom, you’re the cutest bald man ever!

For the Holidays: Stila Shine On Gift of Glaze

stila-on-gift-of-glaze-set.jpg

My friend Jamie from The Beauty of Life loves Stila Lip Glazes.  Every time I stop in Sephora, I sometimes think of her and always hear her voice tempting me to pick up a couple of colors - although I can never decide on what to adopt home with me.

Now, I don’t need to decide.  Stila Cosmetics knows how to help a girl out by packaging some of their most popular colors in a cute little holiday set, Stila Shine On Gift of Glaze ($28 US).

This exclusive Stila collection for the holidays offers 6 mini lip glazes in a variety of colors that’s versatile enough for any look.  What’s more perfect about it is that they’re small and portable to fit into your jean pockets when you’re out on the town or in your designer clutch at your best friend’s holiday party.

Spotlight: Too Faced Betsy Baby Duo

too-faced-eye-shadow-duo_bca.jpg

One thing that I’m drawn to when it comes to beauty products are the names, whether it be the brand or the name of the color.  In the case of today’s Pink Spotlight, we get the best of both with Too Faced Eyeshadow Duo in Betsy Baby ($17 US).

Check the amazing story behind how Betsy Baby came to be - I would summarize it for you but I think the description on the Sephora site says it all beautifully.

Too Faced’s brand founder, Jerrod Blandino, created Betsy Baby for one of his closest friends, Sephora’s Betsy Olum. In 2007, the Sr. Vice President of Marketing was diagnosed with breast cancer. During Betsy’s trying time, Jerrod was one of her top supporters. And, during one of their many heart-to-heart chats, Betsy jokingly asked if Jerrod would bring back her favorite discontinued Too Faced shadow, Heiress. Jerrod happily obliged, and worked with Betsy to develop the perfect highlighting-accent color. Now a fierce duo (just like Jerrod and Betsy), it’s been renamed Betsy Baby in honor of her battle and triumph over breast cancer.

Now with every sale of limited edition Betsy Baby, Jerrod will donate $3 per sale as will Betsy Olum, herself.  And to add to the cause, Sephora will also donate $3 making that a grand total of $9 going to the Breast Cancer Research Fund for every purchase of this Too Faced duo.

So go ahead, I know you want to, go out and support Breast Cancer Awareness Month by picking up a little something that’ll make you look and feel gorgeous too.

Don’t forget that for every Comment you make on this post, or any other BCA-related stories I feature during the month of October, I will personally donate $1 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure*.

It’s Phenomenal! Givenchy Phenomen’Eyes

givenchy-phenomeneyes.jpg

Have you ever seen a mascara with a spherical wand?  Neither have I and that’s why Givenchy’s Phenomen’Eyes is so cutting edge in the world of mascaras on the market today.

At $27 a pop, this little piece of innovation isn’t cheap but if you’re always on the hunt for a mascara that lengthens and gives volume, you might want to give Phenomen’Eyes a go.

givenchy-phenomeneyes_1.jpg

The round wand took a bit of getting used to, my first attempt at using it is seen in the photos.  It clumped a little and by the 2nd coat, I got a little too much of the formula and wasn’t able to successfully use it to separate my lashes since the bristles are fairly short.  However, the spherical wand does help to coat the entire lash which helps to create volume.
