Emmy’s Steal the Look: Teri Hatcher

teri-hatcher_2008-emmys.jpg

I loved Teri Hatcher’s youthful look at the 2008 Emmy Awards this year - so vibrant in her yellow Monique L’huillier gown, bling dripping all over herself, with her usual minimalist makeup and beachy waves she’s known for.

If you’ve got a red carpet event to attend, or maybe it’s just Saturday night with the beau, sass it up in just 15 minutes with a few staple items from your beauty arsenal.

Hair is key to Teri’s signature style - try Redken Contour 08 Body Shaping Lotion ($11.99 US) and work it through towel-dry hair. Blow-dry until mostly dry and then roll up your locks in sections with large hair curlers. Continue blow-drying all over until completely dry and release your new waves from curlers. Gently run your fingers through your hair to break up the curls; set with Redken Workforce 09 Flexible Volumizing Spray ($14.99 US).

NY Fashion Week: Charlotte Ronson

nyfw-spring-2009-charlotte-ronson_gtl.jpg

It’s hard to imagine that this was the first time tarte cosmetics has ever participated at NY Fashion Week at Bryant Park since the brand has been around for a while.  The colors are so pretty, it’s an especially perfect debut for tarte in a Spring show.

Tarte teamed up with Beauty.com makeup artist Tina Turnbow to create a look for the Charlotte Ronson show that was inspired by Madonna from her Lucky Star days (who doesn’t love the 80s?) mixed with a little bit of grunge.  For me, the olive green is to die for!

Get the runway look with tarte by using a matte olive eyeshadow like green machine, all over the lid.  Line the eyes with emphasEYES high definition eye pencil in chocolate.  Turnbow notes in her look that the color scheme keeps it grungy but the application is what makes it glam.

Complete the color look with a touch of 24/7 lip sheer with SPF 15 in tea time for a flush of berry pink lips.  I haven’t tried these lippies but anything that has SPF and looks like I’ve just been making out can’t be all that bad, right? ;)

Fashion Week is starting to wind down, only two more days left!  But don’t worry, I’ll continue to bring you gorgeous looks you can recreate on your own with just a few tips and products from your favorite brands!

Mani/Pedis at Lavande and Raffle Winners!

lavande-nail-spa.jpg

On Saturday I hosted a mani/pedi event to celebrate the blog-iversary and it was an amazing time! A few of my closest friends, along with a Daily Cookie reader, and I all got our nails and toes did, drank a little vino, and best of all - grubbed!

The ladies at Lavande on Polk Street in San Francisco (did you hear that Natalie Portman was there just last weekend?) let us take over their shop and even cleared off a section of their shoe display so that we could set up refreshments. I really wished you could have all been there - we munched on mini roast beef sandwiches, caprese on crostini, a couple of cheese and salami platters, refreshing fruits and cookies to satisfy our sweet tooths.

tarte Friends & Family - Don’t Miss It!

I’m sitting here watching America’s Best Dance Crew right now and it kinda blows that Supreme Soul and Super Cr3w are in the bottom end of the votes. I won’t give away who went home but you can imagine that it’s not good.

But, it makes me feel better to know that tarte is having a Friends & Family Event going on right now that’s so good, it’ll cure me of any sadness I feel and give me a good dose of retail therapy to keep my spirits up.

Right now through Sunday, July 27th, order any tarte product your sweet little heart desires and get 40% off your purchase. Don’t know what to get? Might we suggest The Eraser ($19 US), this baby will brighten up tired eyes, conceal your blemishes and brighten up your face in a matter of seconds with this uber-versatile pen!

cheek-stains.jpg

Or, pick up tarte’s famed Cheek Stain ($28 US). It comes in 8 colors and it might be good for you to get all the shades so that you never have to wonder what your perfect blush shade is! My personal pick is Flush for a universal color that’s sure to complement most skin tones.

ready-to-wear-palette.jpg

Both of these products are currently nominated for Glam.com’s 2008 Beauty Awards so you’d better act fast before it’s all gone. And if you’re like me and need even more tarte goodies, don’t miss out the Limited Edition ready-to-wear / prêt-à-porter ($44 US) set. Palettes are great because it’s all you need to pack when you’re heading out of town for the weekend or jetting off on an overnight business trip - because no one wants to pay $15 to check a bag in right??

If want these, or anything else from tarte, start shopping online right now through July 27th and enter in promo code FF08 when you check out. Don’t forget that it’s good for 40% off your total order - so what are you waiting for?!

It’s Summer, But I’ve Still Got Spring Fever

spring-fever-set.jpg

Summer has officially arrived but I’ve still got spring fever - Tarte Spring Fever, that is.

Tarte Spring Fever Set ($40 US) is complete with a mini Cheek Stain in Blushing Bride, a lovely sheer plum; a mini Spring Fever SPF 15 Lip Sheer, a charcoal gray Waterlilies Eyeliner, North Island Eyeshadow set featuring a pinky beige and taupe duo; and a Brush With Greatness double-ended eyeshadow brush.

This set has just about everything I could ask for in a makeup set to make my day to day life easier. I can whip up an easy work-look in just fifteen minutes and everything miniature in size making it an obvious choice my makeup bag.

I personally have never tried Tarte cheek stains but have heard so much about them. That item alone makes this Spring Fever set a lemming for me. Why pay $28 for just one cheek stain when I can pay a little extra and get more goodies to play with?! The choice is simple. Now, where did I put my Sephora gift card…?

Get Tarte’s Spring Fever set now, exclusively at Sephora and only for a limited time!
