Guess what I finally got around to buying? Yes, the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette! It’s been on my wish list forever, but always got pushed back in favor of limited edition items. Now that it’s in my hands, I realize what I’ve been missing out on.

The amazing value aside, these eye shadows are gorgeous. Urban Decay is probably my favorite brand for eyeshadows, and these are beautifully pigmented and buttery as expected. I can’t wait to play around with the different colors this weekend!

Like loveable, chubbier versions of their bestselling 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils, Urban Decay’s eye shadow pencils offer vibrant, longwearing color with the creamiest texture around. At one point or another, I played with all the exciting colors at Sephora, but never bought one since I couldn’t decide which color to pick.

Electric is an eye-popping sky blue. Sin is a warm golden champagne, the perfect highlight for the inner corners of eyes and my favorite. Juju is the exclusive shade and a soft taupe. Rehab is teddy brown and Delinquent is a royal grape purple.

Even without a primer these last about 6-8 hours on my lids, which is fantastic wear. The pencils’ creaminess gives you time to smudge and blend the shadows together. However they set rather quickly, after about a minute.

I’ve been reaching for the 24/7 Glide On Shadow Pencils whenever I’m in a rush to create this quick look. To start, I just smudge Juju over the entire lid then define my outer V and crease with Rehab without priming.

Then I highlight with Sin and line my lower lash line and waterline with Rehab. For a brighter look I simply line my lower waterline or lash line with Delinquent or Electric instead of Rehab.

No matter how glamorous it looks in the pages of a glossy editorial, wearing full-on makeup to the beach or pool is a big no in my book. Besides being uncomfortably tacky, how are you supposed to have any fun when there’s constantly a concern about your makeup melting?

Now some things that do work if you’re not as genetically blessed as a supermodel are careful amounts of bulletproof concealer and waterproof eyeliner. That’s my limit yet I’ve seen some girls wear pretty lip stains nicely.

If you’re looking for simple though, I recommend Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil or Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eyeliner. As for the concealer, do yourself a favor and check out the Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer ($30 US).

Expensive yes but truly worth every penny. This half ounce tube promises to last because the tiniest drop of this opaque, pigmented formula covers excellently. Blemishes, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation are all rendered invisible.

As amazing as the Full Cover Concealer is, under the eyes it’s a different story. While it does hide dark circles due to the rich coverage, the dry and matte formula which allows such long wear makes application difficult. The overall look is not as flattering as what other concealers produce so save this for the rest of the face.

From the outside, the Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer does look like a lip-gloss. The packaging is so convenient in that way. The fine squeeze applicator gives you precise control which is good since with this product even a drop does the trick.

This concealer has an interesting texture worth noting. It is very creamy at first but dries quickly with a lasting matte finish. Because of this it is important to dot the product on and slowly layer for your desired coverage. Luckily the result is never cakey.

The shade I purchased was Ivory 6, a very yellow based color. There are 12 shades available at Sephora and from what I saw in store, there’s a good range of realistic skin-colored hues and undertones.

Wear is fantastic, the best I’ve experienced. Even when I’m seriously swimming for cardio benefits this concealer sticks around as long as I don’t rub my face. I have worn this in sweltering weather, while sweating, in humidity, and rain but Make Up For Ever hasn’t let me down.

I’m getting ready to head out to the hot deserts of Las Vegas for the long holiday this weekend.  I’ve got a couple sassy new outfits and sultry makeup planned for those hot pre-summer nights (hello 90 degrees!).  The only thing I’m missing: a hot nail hue to complete the look.

And I think I’m going to rock Xanadu on my tips Saturday night on my hot dinner date with the Fiance.

As corny as it sounds, I have a passion for the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil. It never fails to get some love from me every single day and I can’t even fathom the idea of straying from this holy grail staple. I’ll always rave about this eyeliner!

Urban Decay must know how much we love them because for their 15th Anniversary, they’ve produced the collector’s item of the year. The Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils 15 Year Anniversary Collection ($92 US). It’s a heart-stopping set of 15 full sized eyeliners with 6 of them being exclusive plus their Grindhouse sharpener.

The set is said to be valued at $264 US, so it’s obvious that the collection is a steal. Even if you purchased the six new colors separately, the total would still amount to $102 US. I already owned some of the colors, but even so you can never have too many!

Stray Dog is a beautiful light shimmering taupe with gray tones. It’s one of my favorite new colors because it’s hard to find an eyeliner color like this.

Corrupt is a rich, dark brown with tiny, imperceptible bits of metallic glitter. This is one of the new and exclusive shades.

Bourbon is a chocolate brown with silver glitter. It has a nice warmth and has always been a consistent favorite of mines for its wearability.

Midnight Cowboy is a pale gold beige and another one of the new colors. It is beautiful on the waterline to open and brighten the eyes or dotted on the inner corners.

Baked is a rich bronzy gold with a sheen. I like the metallic effect and how the color almost looks molten or liquid.

Stash is a golden olive khaki with gold sparkle. I love the versatility and warm nuances of the hue. It’s such a great color with brown eyes.

Mildew is a deep moss green that pops against brown or taupe eye shadow. Again, my brown eyes seem to love this color.

Perversion is my favorite new color. It’s a flat, matte true black. It’s so much more intense and dark than Zero and really adds drama!

Electric is a bright electric blue. I find this color easier to wear when pairing with coordinating eye shadows like purples and blues.

Binge is a deep blue. It has the same eye-whitening effect as navy blue but with a little more pop since the color is slightly metallic.

Ransom is a blue purple with a light duochrome effect. It’s pigmented and a unique purple in my stash.

Asphyxia is a pink purple with heavy duochrome effect. This is a new color and I love how it flashes different hues in one swipe.

Rockstar is a dark plum purple with awesome pigmentation. It’s not the most special shade but it makes a lovely alternative to black eyeliner.

Zero is a basic black. It is much less black than Perversion though.

Uzi is a gorgeous smoky gray with silver sparkles. I can’t wait to wear this shade with a smoky eye and Perversion!

The Grindhouse Pencil Sharpener has two holes, one for a standard pencil eyeliner to fit and one oversized one. I found it to leave my pencils sharp and clean after sharpening.
