Some lipsticks are like spoiled children, very difficult to deal with but ultimately (hopefully) rewarding. The DHC Premium Lipstick GE ($19 US) is more like a quiet, smart kid sitting at the kitchen table reading a book.
Manageable and not fussy at all, these lipsticks have an A+ in my book for their pretty and buildable color. DHC even says they’re age-defying with line-fighting ingredients like olive oil and vitamin A, though I can’t comment on that statement. I do know that they feel very moisturizing and apply smoothly without any drag.
The packaging is standard for a lipstick, if not a little lightweight. They are silver though it’s hard to see in this photo.
I found that the DHC Premium Lipstick GE lasted a few hours on my lips, which is very average for me. The colors are all shiny and glossy, which helps make lips appear larger by reflecting light.
From left to right: RS105 First Blush; PK102 Petal Pink; RD109 Velvety Red; OR112 Bold Persimmon; RS107 Rich Raspberry; BE111 Rose Gold.
RS105 First Blush is a rich medium pink with a blue undertone that’s not too bright.
RD109 Velvety Red is a classic rich red. Even with this shade I didn’t find application difficult or find myself wishing for some lip liner. These lipsticks really do apply naturally.
OR112 Bold Persimmon is a soft orange red that doesn’t run too red nor too orange. It strikes a good balance.
RS107 Rich Raspberry is beautifully striking and perfectly named in how the color looks applied.
BE111 Rose Gold is an opaque peachy nude.
