Photoshop Your Lips with MAC See Thru Lip Colour

“It’s like Photoshop for your lips!”

This immediately came to mind when I first applied MAC See Thru Lip Colour in Secret Crush on my lips today.

Released with MAC’s A Rose Romance collection today, See Thru Lip Colours ($14 US) are light-weight gel lip stains that deposits sheer color to your pout for that “just kissed” effect.

See Thru Lip Colours are available in three shades -

Tender Tryst (left): a sheer plum with slight pearl
Secret Crush (right): a sheer red berry
Loving Touch (not shown): a sheer light pink with pearl

What I like about these gel lip stains is the packaging, hands down.  It’s like a mini lip glass that fits practically anywhere and because it’s in a tube it comes with a convenient applicator unlike something like Benefit’s Benetint Lip Balm that comes in a pot you have to stick your finger in (and I hate lip products that come this way).

For me Secret Crush is the perfect shade to pump up your lips and pull off that ultimate natural beauty look.  I know I’ve got it on, but no one else does – it’s really like Photoshop for my lips!

Tender Tryst is not quite as subtle, offering more color for your pout whenever you want it.

Overall I’m diggin’ See Thru Lip Colours but I’m not diggin’ the price tag.  It costs the same as lip glass but unlike it, I can see myself needing more than one swipe each for my top and bottom lips to satisfy me.  The other thing is, if you’re lips are pretty pigmented, you probably won’t find much need for these sheer stains.

Did you go check out A Rose Romance today?  What did you think of the collection overall?  Let me know if there are any must-haves!
