We all have a beauty-related fear. For some it’s waxing or glitter. With a lot of my friends, I’ve noticed that eyeliner seems to be a common one. Of course I can understand why. Unskillfully applied it can be reminiscent of goth or punk makeup, which is the exact opposite direction most people like to take their makeup.
However, when I explain to my friends that eyeliner doesn’t always have to be black and that it can be used in a variety of ways, then apply it on them, they’re always pleasantly surprised. I’ve converted a lot of eyeliner-phobic friends this way.

Along the same line, I have a feeling that the Tarte Stop & Stare Set ($39 US) is a holiday gift that would have the same effect. The set is an amazing value with five full-sized pencils and a mini Lights, Cameras, Flashes Statement Mascara.
I’m a fan of Tarte’s Skinny SmolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eyeliners for their effortless creaminess and rich pigmentation. They’re also versatile because they don’t set right away, so you can smudge them for a different look. After that, they stay put the entire day! Onyx is a gorgeous deep black that rivals Urban Decay’s beloved Perversion in intensity.
I’ve expounded my love of makeup crayons many times on the blog. The Tarte SmolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eyeliners contributes to that love with its high-impact color payoff and smokiness potential. They’re perfect for a quick smoky eye; the end has a smudger for convenience. The Taupe shade has a beautiful complexity that makes it an absolute must for taupe fans.
