One thing I’m always surprised about is that some of my friends are concerned with how flattering a nail color looks on them. That’s an issue I never consider, because I consider nails to be a fun accessory.
I guess I can see how it might be relevant when it comes to nude nails, but for colors, I believe that there’s always a way to make a color work.

We all have our phases and trend-based preferences when it comes to beauty. Currently I’m riding the dramatic eye makeup wave. I’ve been sporting falsies frequently and winging my eyeliner intensely.
I find it a little too much to pair my eye makeup with a bold lip color, though who knows, I may end up liking the juxtaposition next week. But for now, a nude lip color looks good to me.

I had a friend over when I received the Tarte Pure Delights 8-Piece Lipsurgence Lip Set ($34 US), and she couldn’t stop oohing and ahhing over the cuteness factor of the mini lipstains. There’s just something inexplicably adorable about miniature things.
She was also excited about the actual products too as a fellow beauty lover, exclaiming the gorgeous variety of colors. We both established that rosy lip colors look great on her a long time ago, but they’re also a simple way to look festive for holiday photos.

We all have a beauty-related fear. For some it’s waxing or glitter. With a lot of my friends, I’ve noticed that eyeliner seems to be a common one. Of course I can understand why. Unskillfully applied it can be reminiscent of goth or punk makeup, which is the exact opposite direction most people like to take their makeup.
However, when I explain to my friends that eyeliner doesn’t always have to be black and that it can be used in a variety of ways, then apply it on them, they’re always pleasantly surprised. I’ve converted a lot of eyeliner-phobic friends this way.

Coming home to Southern California for Thanksgiving after a few months on the East Coast, I’m especially grateful for its truly perfect weather that I hadn’t appreciated as completely when I lived there. I’m planning on hitting up the beaches and logging in some outdoor cardio.
Another reason I’m so happy is that, to me, Thanksgiving officially signals the holiday season. Who doesn’t love the holidays’ warm and fuzzy cheer each year? You can bet I’ll be playing Christmas carols on a loop and indulging in festive baking.
